Service Dogs for PTSD

iK9 is currently training and providing service dogs for military veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). iK9 is proud to be able to perform this important work for our veterans, as well expanding our capability by providing service animals. Our service dogs actively provide comfort and support for the anxieties common to Veterans with PTSD, as well as performing key functions in order to assist our veterans. iK9 is furthering its commitment to support our veterans through a collaboration with the non-profit 1st foundation. This partnership will facilitate our effort to pair service dogs with those in need.

Emotional Support Dogs

iK9 trains and supplies emotional support dogs to those in need. These canines are bred and trained specifically to be well-behaved and to provide comfort and companionship..

Because of our focus on canine science and technology, iK9 has secured a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Phase II STTR contract for Functional Imaging to Develop Outstanding Service Dogs (FIDOS). This innovation in canine research utilizes scent and other stimuli to keep dogs awake and passive as they lie in a Magnetic Resonance Imager (MRI) machine. The results of this research serve to advance and improve the way we approach canine training and working dog selection and breeding through intimate knowledge and study of canine brain activity.

Poaching Detection Canines

iK9 developed the capability of training poaching detection dogs by legally procuring rhino horn and elephant ivory to conduct training activities. iK9 is excited to share responsibility in the protection of endangered animal species.
